Don Miguel Ruiz teaches in The Four Agreements that people allow themselves to be abused when they do not have good self-esteem. I would go a step further and state that people with low self-esteem are also people who abuse others.
If you have good self-esteem, it is unnecessary for you to abuse others. A mature person with healthy self-esteem has no need to look down on others, treat them unkindly, or call them names. It simply dissolves from your inner personality. Your disposition slowly becomes a nature of amiability and thoughtfulness.
Habits of good self-esteem are developed just as any other habit is formed. You can ask gentle Archangel Uriel to help you. Archangel Uriel can help you gain clarity to increase good thoughts about yourself and increase your self-respect.

Your authentic self is not the actor in the movie with the snappy, sarcastic comeback. Your genuine self is a light of divinity that is meant to bring joy, not pain, into the world.
Ask Angel Metatron to help you form habits of complimenting others rather than degrading them. You will soon find that others look forward to your company rather than avoiding you. Ask Metatron to assist you in complimenting yourself when you accomplish small successes of bringing others joy. As you accumulate triumphs, your self-respect and self-esteem will increase.
