MANTRAS

Most people may think that a mantra is just chanting “Om” for long periods of time. While this is true, that is not all there is to the practice of Mantra.
Mantras are seed sounds that can cause changes in your mind, body, and in your surrounding environment. The Bible reports that God created with sound. And, God said, “Let there be light”; and there was light. ~Genesis 1:3. So, before there was light, there was sound.

We create with sound every day. We create peace and love or war and hate with our words. We create within our minds because we can hear with our mental ears. Studies have found that 75-80% of the time, we worry about our problems. This is ego. Ego likes to think it is a problem solver and wants to be useful so its focus is problems. The problem with ego is that it can wear you down, physically as well as mentally. Mantra can help.

In the Buddhist teachings, this part of the mind that is critical and full of ego is called Monkey Mind. If you think of your mind in its agitated, unsettled state; it resembles a tribe of monkeys in the jungle. The restless monkeys jump from branch to branch in trees; they squeal and scream. They may do this for hours, just as our problem focused ego consciousness does.

This is called Monkey Mind in Buddhist teachings, but it is a universal concept that affects all of humanity. In some cultures, it is called Maya, which means illusion. Other ancient teachings call the incessant critical mind the Mitote (pronounced mee-toe-tay), which has a meaning in Mexico similar to a loud, busy, crowded, and crazy market place.

Taming your Monkey Mind is easy and difficult at the same time. It is easy because the process is simple. Just pay attention. Listen to your thoughts and worries. Learn to identify subtle distinctions between worry and concern. A concern is a question that requires an answer, and can be answered satisfactorily. You can move on after your concerns are addressed. It is good to have concerns because the answers you get help you to make informed decisions.

On the other hand, worry tends to be an endless loop of focus on problems that breed and expand. Worry multiplies until it breeds fear. This manifests as anxiety, which can be felt in the physical body as anything ranging from slight nervousness and hyper-ventilating, to ulcers and migraine headaches, to disease and heart attacks.

Monitoring your mind patterns gets easier as you learn, which is the reason that you do not need to beat yourself up when you find you have that critical, worry loop rolling around in your mind. It is like learning to ride a bicycle, or learning anything; you just practice until you get good at it. Your mind is energy and it is also like a muscle. You need to exercise it, but worry and fretfulness are not helpful exercises for the mind. They are exhausting.

Mantra helps me when I find I have negative thoughts such as angry discussions revolving in my monkey mind. Toning the sound Om vibrates my mind and fills it up so that there is no space for negative thoughts. It is like filling a crack in the wall with insulating foam that expands so cold air cannot penetrate the room. I found the CDs of a mantra teacher, Thomas Ashley-Farrand, 10 years ago while browsing through the metaphysical section of my local bookstore. The results were so profound and so quick that I have been practicing ever since.

The practice of chanting mantra is ancient. One of the most practiced Mantras is Om Mani Padme Hum, which is loosely translated as a Jeweled Lotus or a Jewel in the Lotus. Chanting Om Mani Padme Hum brings joy and peace to your heart. A revered Tibetan Monk, Rinpoche teaches that this Mantra can purify 6 realms.

Everything is energy and energy vibrates. That is the simple principle of Mantra. There are thousands of mantras that you can learn and chant for many different reasons. Some chants are banishing chants that ward off negativity and evil. Some chants are for drawing things to you like love and financial abundance. It seems logical that, since sound can manifest material creation, it can create a space of peace in your mind and heart as well.

Your Infinite Angels, especially Archangel Chamuel, can help you find the perfect Mantra for your situations in life. Your Angels can help you to be persistent and invoke the energy of Ganesh to plow through any resistance to the practice.

FOCUS

Multitasking is the current buzzword. If you take this a little deeper though, you will realize that you are interacting with only one situation at a time. How many yous are there?

You can really focus on only one thing at a time with your waking conscious mind. Most humans use only 3% of their waking conscious mind. It is said that Albert Einstein only used 10% of his brain.

I imagine that Nikola Tesla used slightly more since he invented the technology in 1908 that we use for our cell phones today. He also invented the technology for the stealth bomber and a way to provide free energy for the world. Tesla was very focused!

Many times we are in situations that require multitasking. Our jobs are becoming more and more involved. Even fast food service has many tasks that are required of one person and you must get it all right or the customer will be unhappy.

Realizing that you are only one person with one waking consciousness can help you. Placing your entire focus upon whatever you are doing in that moment will help you to put more and better energy into the completion of your task. If you get distracted by the demands of another task, focus totally on the new task.

Practice focusing your attention in this manner and notice how the qualities of your actions improve. You may have many projects going on at any given time however; you will see them move along more quickly and with better outcomes.

Now, your subconscious is another matter! Your subconscious carries out millions of functions of which your waking consciousness is not aware. A few of these functions include storing your memories, repairing damages to your physical body, digesting food, eliminating toxins from your body, and keeping your heart and other organs functioning properly.

The subconscious mind is a treasure trove of infinite creativity. I love calling in my Infinite Angels to help me work with my subconscious to improve my life. You can ask your Angels to help you improve your subconscious intuition so you can find a job or a better job. They can help you to be in the right place at the right time to meet someone and develop a meaningful, loving relationship.

Your Angels can work with your subconscious to help you overcome addictive behaviours. Habits are created and maintained in the subconscious mind. Trust that painful situations can and will be healed with the help of your Infinite Angels and the guidance of Ascended Masters.

Ask for their help and tell them you trust them. Then, follow their guidance. Their help will be useless if you do not consciously use it. Always remember to say, “Thank you, Angels!”

Hypnosis... is it spooky?

What are the benefits of self-hypnosis and how can it specifically help you?
Answer
The benefits of self-hypnosis will assist you in improving your life by helping you to release bad habits, such as overeating, smoking and addictive behaviors; to develop good habits in their place. It will assist you to overcome tension so that you are more relaxed in your daily routines and help you to sleep more productively, therefore overcoming chronic tiredness.

Self-hypnosis will help you have a more positive outlook on life, eliminating depressive and unhappy moods. It can assist you in overcoming sexual challenges and help you develop a true affection and respect for yourself and others. It can help increase your creativity and intuition as well as helping you to take life more lightly and release negative emotions which do not serve you.

You will be able to enjoy yourself and your interactions with others with the help of self-hypnotic techniques. You can feel younger and live longer by developing a relaxed, healthy, energetic lifestyle. You will develop realistic goals and achieve them successfully.

Self-hypnosis can assist you in controlling the critical monkey mind so that you experience peace of mind within yourself. It will assist you by bringing a natural relaxation to your relationships with others, also helping by boosting your confidence and self-esteem so that outcome of every endeavor is successful.

Self-hypnosis can also specifically help you by allowing you to increase your reading speed and cognition, making academic tasks easier to complete in less time while obtaining greater skill and comprehension.

Is there more than one kind of hypnosis?
Answer
There are actually two kinds of hypnosis. These are the explanations and their underlying theories.

1. One kind of hypnosis is a hypnotic state, which is introduced by someone else, such as a hypnotist or operator, to a subject. This is called hetero-hypnosis. The practice of hetero-hypnosis involves relaxing the subject being hypnotized. The hypnotist offers suggestions to the subject, who is in a state of profound relaxation or concentration.

It has been observed that a person in a strong emotional state is also highly suggestible and periods of strong emotion such as love or crisis can mimic the hypnotic state. The hypnotist may include suggestions to the subject that they can easily return to a self-induced hypnotic state and repeat the suggestions for beneficial pattern changes.

2. Another kind of hypnosis is a planned self-hypnotic or auto-hypnotic state, which is entered into by oneself. This practice of self-hypnosis involves suggestions made to oneself and repetition is key to the mind’s acceptance while in a relaxed state.

Relaxing oneself for this particular purpose induces self-hypnosis. While in a relaxed state, suggestions are repeated in one’s mind that are helpful in changing negative or unwanted behavior patterns into positive and more desirable behavior patterns and thinking. These suggestions can also be repeated and reinforced in a waking state by simply acknowledging them over and over again in one’s mind.

When I work with clients, I always ask my Infinite Angels to guide me to offer the best suggestions that will benefit the client and help them achieve their goals. Anyone who has worked with me knows that we always call in their Angels, Guardians, and Guides to accompany the client on their journey of healing and wholeness.

BOOK REVIEW

Walking Through Illusion by Betsy Otter Thompson

This book relates the author’s mental conversations with an energy she names Jesus, in which she examines questions about her human frailties, strengths, choices, and decisions. These are questions we all ask at, one time or another, in a quest to become more human.

This is a well organized and well written book. There are parts that read almost like a novel, telling of occurrences that could have been actual events. There are questions you may answer like a workbook. There are inspirational affirmations that may uplift your soul as you move through your own journey of removing veils of illusion. There are deeply poignant, personal insights that Thompson shares from her own life experiences. In other words, there is something for everyone.

You may or may not believe that Thompson actually spoke with Jesus, but that is irrelevant because her insights, revelations, and discoveries are thought-provoking, profound, and far from illusory.

Read through Walking and you will notice memories surfacing in relation to the pages you that you are reading. Keep Walking as a resource to refer back to when you are experiencing issues with ideas such as Morality, Beliefs, Truth, and Gifts in your life. You will want to examine your perceptions of life as you re-read Walking again and again.

Seeding

I have a wonderful son (in-law). He once told me an interesting real-life story about a man who practices the philosophy of seeding. This is, of course, the “What you sow, you shall reap” philosophy. Often, it seems that ancient teachings are not applicable in our daily lives. This man’s practice disproves that mistaken assumption.

First, some background information. My son works as a skilled automotive technician at a car dealership in North Carolina. The owner was at the helm, running the business for many years.

The service department of the dealership had a steady business. The first half of the week would be busy with Thursday and Friday a little slower. I do not know what the numbers were for the sales department. Anyway, the father chose to step back a little, giving the reins of running the business to his son. This is where it gets interesting.

Paul noticed business in the service department beginning to pick up. After just a couple of months, he commented that he was booked three weeks in advance in the service department. Of course, he was thrilled because this was recently, about the time the economy began its downswing.

I asked him what he thought was bringing in the extra business. Paul said that he thought it was because his new boss was seeding the business.

Paul watched him one day, throwing pennies into the parking lot of the dealership & asked the new boss what he was doing. The man explained that he was seeding – throwing pennies into the lot where people shopping for new cars would be walking & looking around. He said people would find a penny & think; this must be my lucky day. I should buy a car here!

Paul thought that it was not only lucky for the car sales, but also for the service department. Hence, the appointment book was filled for weeks in advance.

Perhaps this man was tuned in to his Infinite Angels & followed their helpful guidance. Perhaps he thought of the idea all on his own. Either way, you can ask your Angels, Guardians, & Guides to help you with projects such as seeding so that you can reap the benefits of this abundant Universe!

Charmed

There is a wonderful feeling of connectedness when you realize and accept that you are divinely watched over and cared for.

You can flow with the ups and downs of life more easily. This does not mean that you do not get upset, mad, glad, or sad. It does mean that you can acknowledge your feelings, feel them, and then, let them go. You do not become the slave of roller coaster feelings. You can allow your feelings to be expressed through you appropriately, of course.

You can give yourself permission to know when you are glad, sad, or mad. These normal human feelings will not get stuffed down into your cellular structure and begin to cause imbalance that can manifest into disease or addictive behavior.
In our modern society, many people grow up in a co-dependent family. Feelings are often suppressed rather than expressed. Feelings are meant to be expressed, that is why they are called emotions – you emote.

As you mature and become more human, you realize it is not only okay for you to emote, but that it is necessary. Learning to express your feelings lets you begin to connect with your inner self, which in turn helps you to connect with your environment and other people around you.

Connecting your inner and outer self becomes magical, therefore charmed. Your intuition grows and expands in amazing ways that you never imagined.

To learn to develop that connectedness of your inner- and outer-self, call upon Padre Pio, Archangel Ariel, and all of your Infinite Angels to assist you. They are anxious to co-create your magical life with you!
