BREAK THE GRIP OF FEARS and PHOBIAS

A common reason that many people visit a hypnotist is to overcome debilitating fears and unreasonable phobias. They often feel out of control and that they are victims of circumstances.

Fears are a natural part of life.

Everyone fears something such as a being robbed or being hurt in an accident. This type of fear is not necessarily bad as it may prompt you to take precautions, such as locking doors or wearing safety belts.

Many fears develop during childhood, but fears can develop anytime. Some fears that develop during adulthood are caused by chemical imbalances such as a hypoglycemic reaction or allergic reactions, but many are the result of repressed memories. One indication of whether a fear is physical is the duration of the reaction.

Psychological reactions are usually triggered by anticipatory stress and become less intense once the anticipated event begins. Physical reactions tend to become more intense once the event is initiated.

If you experience fear strongly and/or frequently, you may begin to fear losing control. You can actually become afraid to feel the fear and go out of your way to avoid anything that might trigger it. When this happens, the fear has become a phobia. A fear may also be considered a phobia when you can feel the sensation of being afraid without even recognizing what first triggered that feeling of fright.

Whenever a fear or phobia gets in someone’s way, interfering with their lifestyle, or causing them to avoid something they would like to do, then it should be treated.

In mild cases, where a person recognizes the fear triggers and would like help controlling reactions, post-hypnotic suggestions can help you learn to control your breathing, slow your heartbeat, and achieve a more relaxed state of mind. This allows you to deal with problems in a calm and balanced manner.

More severe cases are often the result of a traumatic childhood event. Most of the time, the event can no longer be recalled by the conscious mind however, experiences are still retained in your subconscious. In these cases, the hypnotherapist may employ regression techniques.

Age regression is one of the most powerful tools available to the hypnotherapy client. With it, I can guide you back in time and help you re-examine any events or experiences that initially triggered a fear from a distanced and objective point of view. Once the cause is revealed, the fear of losing control dissolves. Control is once again recovered.

Once a sense of control established, repeatedly confronting and de-sensitizing the fear through hypnotherapy swiftly reduces and soon removes the fear.

ANGELS TELL ME: MOMENTS

Angels Tell Me…

If you take a dollar bill, which is 6.14 inches (or 6 inches, if you are rounding), and used that as a visual to compare time to actual space; the very generous lifespan of a human of 120 years would look like 736.8 inches or 61.4 feet.

The age of modern humanity as we know it is calculated to be approximately 50,000 years or about 12792 dollar bills, laid end-to-end, which would be about 4.84 miles. Most people could walk that distance in a little over an hour.

Scientists theorized that the human race has been evolving for about 200 thousand years or the length of 614,000 dollar bills, laid end-to-end, or 102,333 feet, or almost 19.5 miles.

The Earth has been around for about 4.5 billion years and the whole universe (according to the Big Bang Theory [not the Bible]) has been revolving in the void for about 14 billion years. That is a 14 with 9 zeros after it. The calculations for converting that time into spatial distance are astronomical, so I won’t do them here.

The whole point of this exercise is that, if you are walking along and you are only going for 61.4 feet of the millions of miles available – you’d better make every inch count!! Shanimah 5/14/2012

HYPNOTHERAPY FOR CHILDREN?

CHILDREN ARE OFTEN THE BEST SUBJECTS FOR HYPNOTHERAPY!

·         How can your child benefit from Hypnotherapy?

In more ways than you might think. Hypnotherapy can help to eliminate infant habits such as bed-wetting and nose-picking. It can help develop good study habits, improve concentration and learning ability, develop motivation, creativity and self-esteem. Hypnotherapy can help deal with grief or loss. Most importantly, it can prevent potential psychological damage that might be caused by misunderstanding the words of an adult.

“I have files filled with case histories of adults who have sought help understanding childhood memories.” states Shanimah Leal Ra, PhD. “It is amazing how much damage can be done by a well-meaning, but misunderstood remark; especially when it comes from a trusted source like a parent or teacher.” Children all have individual personalities, just as do adults. They respond to comments by authority figures each in their own way.

For instance, a parent might see a poor report card and try to use reverse psychology to motivate the child. The parent might say something like: “I can’t believe any kid of mine is this dumb.” If the child has enough self-confidence; it might provoke him into putting forth more effort. But, if the child is insecure, a statement like that could make him believe that he is truly dumb or worse, that his father or mother doesn’t love him.

Hypnotherapy can help children to understand what was really meant and prevent the misunderstanding from becoming an emotional scar that would limit their personal growth or performance potential throughout their life.

·         Children are actually the best subjects for hypnotherapy!

Prior to beginning any program, I take the time to interview with children, to find out what the child likes and dislikes. We discover, together, the best imagery to use. It’s easy for children to have a positive experience with hypnotherapy.

Once they develop an adequate attention span, children are easily hypnotized. Children spend most of their waking hours playing games and indulging in fantasies and pretend experiences in which they become totally absorbed. These are excellent methods and techniques with which to implement therapeutic suggestions.

Children may not realize the potential power of visualization. Yet, we all have this natural talent for dreaming and picturing things in our minds; children even more so. They respond beautifully to fairy tales and bedtime stories. They like to imagine that they have a part in the story being told and they slip into hypnosis easily.

Teenagers benefit immensely from hypnotherapy. It can be successful with improving concentration and learning abilities. It has also proven to be helpful in dealing with behaviour problems such as delinquency and addictions. With teenagers however, motivation plays a much larger roll. It is essential that they understand and want the change.

I have multiple degrees in Clinical Hypnotherapy; I also do Etheric Energy Work, practice EFT techniques and am a Reiki Master, which compliments my therapy toolbox,” explains Dr. Ra.                                                                             ©1/25/2012

HYPNOSIS BENEFITS STROKE RECOVERY

As we age, we may become vulnerable to conditions such as high blood pressure, heart disease, or stroke. An interesting case study by two Los Angeles researchers sheds doubt on traditional views about the chances for recovery from one of these unnatural conditions – stroke.

As early as 1987, researchers Holroyd and Hill found that recovery from stroke could be extended long after the six month accepted medical viewpoint of that time. Their findings, published in the International Journal of Clinical and Experimental Hypnosis, Vol. 37, issue 2, 1989, presented that, using hypnosis – a technique not normally associated with the treatment of stroke, researchers helped a 66 year-old female regain several physical capacities. These included use of her disabled arm and the ability to walk without a cane. Hypnotherapy with the subject began six months post-stroke and lasted for six months.

Stroke Recovery Hypnotherapy

Under hypnosis, the patient was guided through imagery that recalled memories of previous abilities, including swimming in a river as a child. In addition to the hypnosis sessions, the woman was given audiotapes with which to practice at home.
Follow-up a year after the stroke showed verifiable improvement in the physical capabilities of the patient.
Researchers Holroyd of UCLA and Hill of Permanente Center in Lomita, CA. speculated that, even though therapy for strokes is traditionally perceived as not being useful beyond six months post-stroke, the capacity of the mind to learn new information and processes does not have an end-point. This has developed into a new vein of scientific research called “Neuroplasticity.”

Imagery works on the mind in a way that is not yet clearly understood. As ongoing results show, however, the ability of imagery to push the envelope of traditional limits of effective therapy holds exciting possibilities and it is an arena that merits further investigation.
An interesting side note: Hypnotherapy for recovery was initiated at the request of the patient after a neurologist had concluded that she would not likely gain any further improvement in her physical condition.
Sometimes, it seems, the patient knows best!

If you or someone you know would like help using guided imagery or visualization to complement traditional therapy for stroke or any other condition, you may contact Shanimah Ra – email: AskDrRa@gmail.com.

DEBUNKING THE MYTHS ABOUT HYPNOSIS

What is hypnosis? Hypnosis is a powerful therapeutic tool for accessing the subconscious mind and achieving personal goals or affecting desired changes. It may be used alone or in conjunction with other therapeutic or medical techniques.

Despite its incredible power, there are few therapeutic tools less understood or more plagued by misconceptions. Hypnosis has existed since prehistoric times and modern western medicine has been trying to understand it since the 1700’s. It has only been within the last two decades that we have truly begun to understand how hypnosis works and what it can do for us.

Unfortunately, many misconceptions that have developed over the centuries still persist today. If you ask the average person on the street what he or she thinks hypnosis is, they may respond with any number of answers including sleep, unconsciousness, mind control, or even magic. All of these ideas are wrong, but unfortunately continue, perpetuated by Hollywood novels and films. Many vampire and spy movies for instance, portray hypnosis as a way for the villain to gain control over the victim. These fallacies prevent many people, who could truly benefit from hypnotherapy, from ever trying it. Those who do try hypnotherapy often spend their first session unlearning their misunderstandings.

Hypnosis is not sleep, unconsciousness, mind control, or even magic. In fact, it is a heightened state of awareness. In most cases, the subject is fully aware and able to respond to requests, either verbally or by signaling, such as raising a finger. Ask a hypnotized person to make a specific, reasonable movement and they will comply.

There is no surrender of control or will-power, no magic. No one can be hypnotized against their will, and what is more, no hypnotized person can be forced to do anything against their will, beliefs, or core values.

Scientists now know hypnosis to be a state of selective thinking in which the subject, who is in control of his or her own thoughts, chooses to experience only what is relevant to the task at hand, thereby blocking out all other stimuli.

However you think of it, hypnosis is a simple, relaxing method for communicating directly with the subconscious mind. Few people realize the immense power that their own subconscious mind has over their life. The causes of many bad habits are rooted in memories or mistaken perceptions that have long been forgotten by the conscious mind but retained in the subconscious. Hypnosis helps to access the subconscious to change those unwanted habits quickly and easily.

Although hypnosis is not a panacea, there are many areas in which it has proven to be tremendously helpful including memory enhancement, improving concentration and focus, relieving insomnia, overcoming phobias and fears, eliminating harmful habits such as smoking and nail-biting, relieving pain, and stress management.

Hypnosis is a self-improvement tool anyone can learn and everyone should use.

ADVANCE YOUR CAREER THROUGH HYPNOSIS

Everyone dreams. Some people dream of love, some dream of wealth, some dream of success. Unfortunately, few people learn how to turn their dreams into reality. One of the reasons for this is something that has recently been identified as “Playpen Syndrome.”

Playpen syndrome is like a bureaucracy. It is propagated by people and agencies who want to avoid being bothered by ambition, creativity, new ideas or progress. It stifles individuality and prevents the achievement of goals. Fortunately, hypnotherapy can help the players leave the playpen behind.

Playpen syndrome begins when children learn from parents, teachers, or other authority figures that they will only be liked if they do as they are told; if they create problems, they won’t be liked. Parents don’t intentionally create this attitude, but they often place their children in safe, out-of-the-way areas. The young, impressionable mind gets the idea that they will be liked and taken care of as long as they don’t cause any problems.

These mistaken ideas stifle creativity and send a message to the subconscious mind that keeping the status quo is the same as being liked and should be the goal of their life. They do not learn to explore, take small risks, or find solutions to the challenges of their environment.

The message is reinforced as they grow up. They participate in sports activities and continue to play on teams regardless of their skill level and without any real motivation to improve their skills. Later they work in an environment that will secure their job, with benefits, regardless of their skill level or the quality of their work. All their lives they are cared for by someone else and never take the initiative to take control of their lives and make their dreams come true.

Hypnotherapy can help anyone develop the tools they need to achieve their dreams and free themselves from the Playpen syndrome. The program focuses on Goal Setting and Achievement, and may also include attitude, confidence, and motivation.

Effective goal setting requires both a sense of completion and reward. The major problem most people have with goals is that they only set the long term accomplishment goals. They don’t look at the steps they need to achieve to get to the end goal. They fail to see any reward, even when they do make progress.

Activity goals are just as important as accomplishment goals. Activity goals are the steps by which we reach our final outcome goals. A student, for example, wants to become an engineer and this is his or her accomplishment goal. One at a time, they must attend each class, complete the written assignments, and pass each test and exam. These are activity goals. Once completed successfully, each activity goal provides an essential sense of accomplishment and the motivation to continue.

Motivation and attitude are just as essential as proper goal setting. You must have a strong desire to achieve your goals. You must have confidence to know that you can succeed. Hypnotherapy can help you find these things within yourself.

My Infinite Angels: IN PAIN? CALL THE DOCTOR… AND THE HYPNOTHERAPIST!

My Infinite Angels: IN PAIN? CALL THE DOCTOR… AND THE HYPNOTHERAPIST!: Pain. We all experience it at one time or another. Migraine headaches. Back pain. Chronic pain from illness or injury. Birthing pains. Pain ...

IN PAIN? CALL THE DOCTOR… AND THE HYPNOTHERAPIST!

Pain. We all experience it at one time or another. Migraine headaches. Back pain. Chronic pain from illness or injury. Birthing pains. Pain from surgery or other medical or dental procedures. If we are in pain, we want relief and we want it NOW!!

So you call the doctor and she prescribes medication. You take it and most of the time, it helps. Other times, it doesn’t help – or help enough, or for long enough. There are sometimes that you just do not want to take medication, right?

There has to be an alternative. Isn’t there a safe way to get pain relief without medication and chemicals?

More and more people are asking this question and the answer is a resounding – YES! A natural technique that has been used since the dawn of time – hypnosis – is becoming the preferred choice of treatment for pain relief for a variety of issues from migraine headaches to chronic back pain to cancer symptoms.

Hypnosis, in addition to regular medical treatment, has a multitude of advantages with pain management. Primarily, it requires no drugs. In fact, studies show that patients with chronic diseases who practice hypnosis as taught by a professional hypnotherapist trained in pain management, required fewer analgesics to maintain pain relief. They suffered less anxiety about their pain and greater comfort during medical procedures as well.

A study at Case Western University found hypnotherapy useful as a pain management tool following such surgical procedures as hysterectomy, coronary by-pass, hemorrhoid surgery and abdominal surgery. Subject patients had shorter hospital stays, less nausea and more rapid healing. Hundreds of studies have proven hypnotherapy to be the first choice treatment for reducing migraine headache attacks.

With such impressive results, why do we reach for the aspirin bottle instead of the natural, relaxing, healing capacities within our own powerful mind? The answer is obvious. Most people do not know how to practice self-hypnosis. Most people are not aware of the outstanding successfulness of hypnotic techniques. Many people unfortunately have outdated, fearful misconceptions that hypnosis involves mind control or giving over of your conscious will to another person.

The truth is that hypnosis (or hypnotherapy as it is often termed today to indicate the acknowledgment of its increasing therapeutic value) is a resource that should be explored by all who suffer pain. It offers an ongoing approach of pain management that, once established, can be monitored and adjusted by the patient him or herself as their unique circumstances dictate. This returns the sense of control back to the patient. Best of all, it has no side effects… except an overall feeling of increased relaxation.

How can you learn self-hypnosis to control or reduce your pain? You can email me or give me a call to set up an appointment. I can teach you a variety of techniques such as visualization, guided imagery, relaxation, and suggestion to help you gain control of your pain and your life.

Infinite Blessings from your Infinite Angels.

3-2-1-Relax! During the Holidays… With Hypnosis!

Hypnosis, simply put, is a relaxed and focused state of mind. Most people can learn to enter this state of deep relaxation and purposefully focused attention easily and safely in just a few sessions with the help of a trained professional hypnotherapist like Dr. Shanimah Ra. After following my instructions and learning simple techniques, most clients can induce a self-hypnotic state. Unlike alcohol or drugs, hypnosis can be used anytime and anywhere. All that it requires is an opportunity to relax for a few minutes. You can practice self-hypnosis while gazing out an office window or sitting in a quiet corner of the office break-room. With persistence and perseverance, you can learn to be calm and relaxed in the most crowded and noisy of situations.

By quieting down the body and mind in a trance state, a chain of physiological responses commence such as hormonal changes and improved immune system function. Hypnotic states reduce the effects of stress on the body by preventing the ‘flight or fight’ response, which relaxes muscle tension, as well as lowering heart rate and reducing blood pressure. Additionally, these changes stimulate other positive changes such as decreased production of stress hormones and an increase of protective T-cell production within your immune system.

Since the 1970s, increased scientific research indicates that hypnosis, as well as other ‘mind/body’ therapies such as biofeedback and meditation, is an effective and successful option in treatment of illness where stress is a major factor. While not meant to take the place of traditional medical care, hypnosis acts as a useful and efficient adjunct therapy – one that is not only effective, but enjoyable as well. A major study at Duke University in North Carolina showed that practicing relaxation resulted in reduced hypertension and reduced blood sugar levels in test patients. Another study discovered that the regular practice of hypnosis could increase the success rates of in-vitro fertilization procedures.

The myth that someone can ‘take over’ your mind or influence your thoughts without your consent has been scientifically dispelled. When you request a hypnotherapy session, you are aware at all times of the suggestions that I offer. Your mind will automatically and instinctually reject any suggestions that conflict with your personal values and beliefs. I work closely with my clients to develop suggestions and imageries that are specifically tailored to your needs and desires.

Continuing research clearly illustrates the effectiveness of hypnosis for stress reduction and its accompanying health benefits. Wouldn’t you like to experience the advantages of hypnosis today?

HOLIDAYS STRESSING YOU OUT? 3-2-1 RELAX WITH HYPNOSIS!

A client (we’ll call him Joe Black), used to down two scotch and waters before dinner every night just to relax enough to make the transition from work to home life. But after dinner, he would be so relaxed he’d nod off while reading the paper and find himself unable to go to sleep upon retiring to bed. He did not want to take drugs or chemicals that might harm his body and mind, but he desperately needed to unwind after a stressful workday as a management executive and was seeking an alternative to ‘social drinking’ when he talked to a friend that recommended hypnotherapy.

After Mr. Black came to me for a session, he learned to take fifteen to twenty minute ‘transition breaks’. He finds a quiet, solitary spot, such as his den or bedroom. He turns off the lights and his cell and phone. He sets his iPod on soft, instrumental music. He changes into some comfortable clothes and stretches out on his bed or recliner.

As the music begins to soothe his nerves, Mr. Black begins to think of his ‘safe place’, a mental haven where he has learned to go to release the stresses of the outer world.

Here in the inner sanctuary of his own mind and heart, Mr. Black is in complete control. He can visit any one of his favourite locations – a stretch of warm, white sugar sand on an uninhabited beach, or a sunny meadow beside a cool pine forest with a gently gurgling brook flowing through it.

Wherever he is, Mr. Black knows he is safe, comfortable, and in complete control with no one asking anything of him or wanting anything from him. For these few moments, there is no place else he needs to go and nothing else he needs to do. Here, in his inner sanctuary, Mr. Black can and does imagine himself as he chooses to be – healthy, happy, relaxed – at peace with himself and everyone around him.

If Mr. Black experiences any problems or difficulties at work during the day, he wraps them up in brown paper, ties the package with string, puts them in a brightly coloured hot air balloon and watches them gently float away. He releases them, knowing they will be taken care of in the best possible way.

During this reverie, Mr. Black may take a dip in the ocean or even the gentle brook, cleansing both his mind and his body of all stress, tension, or any negative emotions may yet linger. He feels a restorative, healing energy take their place as he continues to enjoy a serene, relaxed state.

After about fifteen minutes, Mr. Black instinctively ends his journey of self-hypnosis and gradually returns his thoughts to the present. He reminds himself that he is back in his room feeling refreshed and revitalized, yet completely and fully relaxed, ready to enjoy his evening with his family.

The relaxed, good-natured Mr. Black who emerges from his room is a completely different person from the harried, stressed and sometimes short-tempered man who went in. Mr. Black’s family members, as well as Joe himself, are grateful that he has discovered hypnosis.

Mr. Black is just one of a growing number of people who find that hypnosis works for them as a successful, effective, non-drug alternative for stress reduction. With stress increasing as an ever-present part of the 21st century lifestyle, and the mounting evidence of the link between stress and illness – including such conditions such as hypertension, heart disease, ulcers, immune deficiencies, and cancer – hypnosis provides welcome relief with no side-effects.

HYPNOSIS HELPS YOU ACHIEVE YOUR GOALS QUICKLY!

Whatever your goals are, hypnosis can help you achieve them easily and rapidly. Many people do not realize the fantastic and immediate power of their subconscious mind. The causes of so many bad habits are rooted in memories or perceptions that are forgotten by the conscious mind, yet are retained in the subconscious. Hypnosis helps to access the subconscious mind and achieve the desired effect of change easily and quickly.

Unfortunately, many people refuse to consider hypnotherapy because of their erroneous fears and misconceptions. They may mistakenly believe that the hypnotherapist will control them, they will tell hidden secrets, or be made to do ridiculous actions. These false beliefs are often the result of Hollywood portrayals found in old vampire movies or cartoons on TV. These fears are completely unscientific and unfounded. The individual in trance is always in control and is, in fact, even more aware of his or her surroundings while in the hypnotic state.

Although hypnosis is not a panacea, there are many capacities where it has proven to be tremendously helpful. A few of these areas include memory enhancement, improving concentration, relieving insomnia, eliminating nail biting, reducing or eliminating stuttering, increasing sales, and sports achievements. However, the most common reasons for visiting a hypnotherapist are losing weight, quitting smoking, and managing stress.

Many overweight people who fail with diet programs turn to hypnosis as a safe and reliable alternative to drugs and surgery. For them, dieting never eliminated the subconscious need for excess food. It is just a form of torture they went through, until they eventually gave into their subconscious desires. So, they continuously went up and down on the scale, never really letting go of the desire for excess food.

The reasons for desiring excess food were anchored in a memory of some past emotional event that caused them to overeat for security, self-preservation, or protection. The memory of the event remained sealed in their subconscious, even as it was hidden from their waking awareness.

In a trance state, you can locate the event that triggered unwanted behaviour and change your perception about the event; thus eradicating it as a problem source. Once this is accomplished, the individual can eliminate the desire for excess food and the weight reduces easily, naturally, and stays off.

This same technique is effective for smoking cessation. Often, when an individual re-experiences the horrible experience of taking that first choking puff, and remembers the events that caused them to continue smoking, the habit is easily eliminated.

Phobias such as unreasonable fears of water, flying, driving, and claustrophobia can be easily tamed using this and similar techniques. This can frequently be accomplished in two to three sessions.

“What the mind causes, the mind can cure. Wellness begins in the mind!” Every problem has a cause, and when you eliminate the cause from the computer that we call the subconscious mind, the problem disappears.

A Cure for Test Taking Jitters

• Do you freeze when you sit for an exam?

• Does your mind go blank when you look at a test sheet?

The decision to turn a life-long interest into a career in massage therapy seemed only natural to Bob (not his real name). Bob had always worked well with his hands and all his friends said that Bob gave the best back rubs around.

Yet, once in massage therapy school, Bob’s dream became a nightmare. As his courses progressed, Bob found that the large amount of memorization required to pass the test was becoming more and more challenging for him. He saw his dream slipping away as he fought harder to master the material while his grades were increasingly dropping. He knew he had to do something fast.

Bob’s friend, also a massage therapist, shared an office with a hypnotherapist. He suggested that Bob try hypnosis for test taking anxiety. Bob agreed to give it a try.

Bob didn’t know what to expect during his first visit but the hypnotherapist quickly put him at ease and explained the process of hypnotic suggestion. Dr. Ra answered all his questions and put to rest any concerns that he had about ‘losing control’. She told him that he would, in fact, be in control of the process at all times. She explained that she would simply help him to obtain a state of deep relaxation from which he could arouse himself at any time, if necessary.

While in this expanded state of awareness, Bob’s innermost, subconscious mind would be more available to listen and accept any suggestions or ideas that he perceived to be useful or helpful. His mind would automatically reject any suggestions that went against his own personal values and beliefs.

Relaxing in a recliner, Bob quickly entered a state of light, alpha hypnosis while listening to the soothing voice of the hypnotherapist instructing him to release tension from every part of his body, bit by bit. After a few more minutes of deep relaxation, Bob was ready to receive suggestions that would help end his problems with memorization and test anxiety.

Dr. Ra had Bob mentally visualize himself in his study area, picturing his desk, books, papers and even any beverages he would normally have on hand to drink. Once fully there in the scene, Dr. Ra had Bob mentally review his study habits, suggesting that his mind would be relaxed, receptive and that he would remember fully and easily any information that he read or studied.

As Bob re-experienced each phase of his study routine in trance – reading over notes, repeating information out loud, even taking rest breaks – Dr. Ra continued to suggest that he was fully retaining all the information easily and effortlessly.

Dr. Ra further instructed Bob that when a question about the material that he was studying was put to him, either verbally or on a written test, him mind would immediately bring the information up to a conscious level, making it instantly available for full recall.

Bob was instructed to feel himself in class, taking a test. He was advised to see himself relaxed, confident, and feeling great. He was to image himself confidently answering test questions while visualizing a study period in which he had full and easy recall of the test material. He was reminded to remain relaxed, confident and assured of his success.

After fully visualizing himself confidently taking the test, Bob was instructed to see himself later receiving notice of his test results, he was directed to feel the excitement and sense of good self-esteem that came from scoring well on the test. He was asked to hear the positive comments of his teacher and the congratulations from his friends.

Once Bob had fully visualized his success, he was more certain about his ability to make his dream a reality. With a few follow-up visits and instructions for self-hypnosis reinforcement, Bob soon accomplished his goals.

Bob’s dream really did come true after all. He graduated as one of the top students of his massage therapy class, thanks to a little help – and some good advice about the benefits of hypnosis – from his friends.

If you or someone you know suffers from test-taking anxiety or trouble with studying and memorization, hypnosis might be the answer.

CHANGING UNIVERSE

10/17/2011
The Universe is changing rapidly. It is not only our world, but according to prophecy, the changes that we are moving through on this planet are also happening and affecting other solar systems and galaxies.

Surprisingly, many people have asked me recently about the upcoming 2012 shift; Do I think that we are going to be wiped out? Hollywood has taken information and spectacularized it, of course. That is their paradigm, their view of the method to make the most money from movies. It does not make what they portray true… unless you believe it and bring it into your personal world. Remember, there was too much hype about the turn of the century and there were no major catastrophes as we moved from December 31, 1999 to January 1, 2000.

My visions have shown me a time when things were moving smoothly; the period between the Korean and Vietnam wars. After that, things get rough as we have seen and felt. We kept overindulging while we tried to ignore the signs of stress on our bodies and the environment – the body of our Mother Earth.

At this point, we can no longer be ignorant about anything. We must activate and use our quantum consciousness with meditation, prayer, and conscious living. This means making decisions based upon a connection with your Higher Power. You can still choose to behave however you want; you just must know that you are the determiner of the outcomes of your choices.

The visions of an even brighter future await. After the (apparent) devastation, the earth emerges more beautiful and radiant than ever before, just like a newborn babe. This is because we can choose it to be so. Personally, I choose to embrace peace. I believe that the catastrophic events we are witnessing are the labor pains that are birthing a beautiful new plan of peace, forgiveness, abundance, light, and love – Most of all, love.

I believe that Infinite Angels are watching over us, gridding the earth in a protective shield that diffuses the energies so that we are not destroyed or destroy ourselves. I believe that this is part of God’s plan to help us learn how powerful we are as children of God. The Angels are part of our team, our shields and our light. Allow yourself to enter a meditative state. Be grateful and call upon them, praying ceaselessly.

Infinite Blessings from your Infinite Angels.

LEADERS

Are you a Leader? Being a leader encompasses many different facets. A leader doesn’t say, “My way or the highway.” A leader says, “How can we do this better together.” A leader says, “I’ll go first,” rather than, “Follow me.” Many times, a leader says nothing. This is one of the best kinds of leaders, one who leads by example.

Most people want all of the attention, glory, and praise that a leader gets, but they do not want to do the work or own the responsibility. Many organizations and institutions (such as government) have created schemes and processes that perpetuate the dependence of the populace upon the systems. This is unnatural and so the systems break down because they actually repress our independence to make us dependent on the system.

It is at that point that individuals might want to stand up and think for themselves to take care of themselves. There are many ways of regaining our real freedom to think, pray, and do for ourselves that do not rely on systems, organizations, or government, and that are legal, ethical, and moral. This is freedom of the soul.

You can plant a garden. Even if you only have one tomato plant in a pot on your window sill, at least it is yours and you can nurture it and see that it is good. You can use your free time to clean up your neighborhood, pick up broken glass so that the children do not cut themselves, and pick up rotting garbage so the insects don’t breed. That does not even cost you money.

It is the little things you do that make you a leader; it is the things you do that you do not wait for someone else to do for you that are moral, upright, and helpful. It is a path that you can start on today or move farther along. It is how you create a beautiful world around you - your beautiful world where all is well.

Once you make that decision, Infinite Angels will surround you and move through you to assist. You will find your world getting better and better because others will see you. You will become a leader by example.

YOU ARE VALUABLE

You are of inestimable value. You are a treasure of the Universe. Just by your presence on our lovely planet, Earth, you have value, purpose, and worth. You just need to remember this.

You need to remember, not because I or someone else has told you so, but because it is a truth in your soul. We all need to connect with our Higher-self on the soul plane. And, rather that attempting to escape this plane of Earth, we need to bring our soul energy into our daily lives, now.

With the beginning of the industrial age, we began to lose the connection of soul, of spirit. By focusing so much upon the physical, we lost sight of the non-physical. We began to pay more attention to that which we could make with our hands and less and less attention to what we could co-create with spirit.

We are coming to a point in our human evolution that will represent a crossroads. We can either get back into balance with nature and our spiritual selves or perish, literally, by our own hands – all that we have created that is now out of harmony.
The good news is that there is more spiritual help available now than ever before.

The Angels are everywhere, ready and willing to assist us in connecting with Spirit and our soul-self. You can do this wherever you are and at any time of the day or night. You can do this in a crowded subway train. Just close your eyes for a brief moment, breathe in deeply and mentally ask Archangel Michael, your Guardians, and Guides, or any Angel to help you connect to your Higher-self and your soul, which is basically one in the same.

As you breathe out and open your eyes, notice the difference in the energy surrounding you. Feel ten thousand Angels to your right; feel ten thousand angels to your left; feel ten thousand angels in front of you and behind you, ten thousand angels above you and also below you. As you move gently through your day, feel confident that you are surrounded by an infinite, uncountable number of angels that watch over you and stand ready to assist your every need with love and grace.

WE ARE ONE

We all are searching for something. It is the process of evolution. I have studied and searched almost all of my life, from the time that I was two years old for that which I could not see or hear or touch, but that I know is there. I never quit searching.

Although I am very intuitive and psychically aware, it is only recently that I feel the shift inside that tells me that I have the answer – for me. You may know that already or you may feel that it is yet to come.

This was a very subtle shift – almost imperceptible, that I know that we are one. We are both the creator and created. We are in the middle of our thoughts, feelings, and desires. It is different to think about this intellectually; to say affirmations and wish peace for the world. It is quite another to know in your mind and body, in your heart and soul that we are one.

We are all thoughts creating more thoughts. We are consciousness (created by God) impressing upon the thinking stuff (created by God) of the Universe. If you impress good thoughts upon the thinking stuff; it responds back to you with good. If you impress anything else, that will come back to you as well. If you focus upon tragedy in the media, you will find more of that coming into your life. If you focus upon cancer awareness, you will find more and more friends and loved ones (or even yourself) with disease.

Conversely, if you focus upon health, wealth, and love, you will find more and more of that in your life. It behooves all of us to direct our focus and concentration toward what we want to bring into our lives and allow only the good into our thinking field. This does not mean that there will no longer be tragedy in the world, but there will no longer be so much tragedy in your personal world.

Ask your Infinite Angels to help you to learn to redirect your focus and concentrate upon the best in your life. You will soon find your life getting better and better!

FORGIVENESS

Often, when I am working with clients and their Angels to resolve conditions & situations that have become problematic for them, the issue of forgiveness arises.

We tend to think of forgiveness in terms of someone doing something to us now such as arguing with us or even physical assault. In these cases, we may or may not forgive. However, we need to let go of the issues & get on with our lives. The effects can still linger in the back of our mind, though.

There are many situations that we may have thought we forgave (or not) that still affect us such as childhood hurts & traumas. We do not think of these in our daily life because we need to be focused upon getting an education, earning a living, & caring for our families. Again, the effects are in our subconscious & can be the cause of many different problems or simply personality quirks.

A good practice that you can easily do each day is getting in touch with your feelings about anything that needs forgiveness in your life. You can start right where you are at in this moment. Think backwards & recollect any conditions or situations that you think may need to be forgiven. If it comes up in your consciousness, forgive it.

Your angels will assist you by presenting memories that require your attention. It can be important to forgive more than just the person or persons that you think hurt you. You will need to forgive yourself for being in that situation. You will need to forgive any other persons on the periphery of the situation that were witnesses to what happened to you. You will need to forgive the energy & the condition, itself, that hurt you.

The native Hawaiian practice of Ho’oponopono is a beautiful way to forgive. There are four things to declare with Ho’oponopono: 1. I love you; 2. I am sorry; 3. Please forgive me; 4. Thank you.
1. I love you – You are declaring that you love & that your love is stronger than anything that could possibly hurt you. You love you (for getting yourself into that mess), the person(s) that caused you pain (for being a part of your soul journey), the situation (because it made you stronger), & God (for loving you enough to give you free will to choose what you will experience).
2. I am sorry – You declare that you realize that the energy that was meant to help your soul evolve has done its job & you can now release & resolve the issue(s) that are bothering you.
3. Please forgive me – You are willing to let go & move on.
4. Thank you – you are willing to accept the gift of being a stronger, powerful person with expanded consciousness.

This is a process that is best done in a meditative state, but you can practice all day long as little things arise that get your attention or bother you. You can use it to help you overcome unwanted habits or to boost your motivation. Most of all, it can help you to uncover subconscious issues that you are ready to resolve & release.

Your Infinite Angels will assist you to discover the issues that are appropriate for you to address now. Remember to seek the assistance of a professional – medical or psychiatric, if you feel the need.

INTUITION

Intuition is about taking action. Over the years, many people have told me that they do not have insight or intuition. Everyone has this capacity; they are just unaware of it or have repressed it for so long that it has become like an unused muscle that has atrophied from non-use.

Everyone has intuition. Animals have this capacity. In animals, we call it instinct. Animals live in the moment. They can instantly assess a situation and take immediate action. This is the key – taking action. If you do not take action, your intuition is no more useful than a rusty tool buried in the shed for years.

By taking action upon your intuitive insights, you plug yourself into the flowing grid of information of the universe. This allows you to gain the correct information for whatever you are processing now. It no longer matters what you were processing last year or last month or ten minutes ago. It does not matter what you will be processing next week.

You can only live NOW and your insights must offer you constantly updated information that is appropriate and usable for your particular situation.

You can begin to wake-up and work your intuition muscle in several ways. You can get quiet and meditate, knowing that intuition is often expressed in whispers. You must be quiet and focused as if you are intently interested in a conversation with your best friend that you are having in a noisy, crowded airport. You can observe your environment, including your body, which will offer you clues as to what insights are currently important for you.

You can ask your infinite Angels, Guardians, and Guides to help you to reconnect with that subtle energy that guides you instantly. You must make the commitment to follow your guidance and take appropriate action to better your condition.

As you continue to follow your intuition, it will get stronger and better defined. You will find yourself with new and greater opportunities manifesting in your life.
